Inspiring Stories of Women & Innovation

The Lady Edisons article series was created to highlight the innovative contributions of women in science and technology throughout the years.  The name "Lady Edison" was originally used for BL Henry who is featured in the first article in this series.

Each article will feature a different woman and will focus on her inventions and innovations. If she obtained patents on her inventions, those patents will also be highlighted.  Because many of these women have fascinating personal stories that go beyond what can be presented in these short articles, other resources and Information are listed so you can learn more about the individual.

Are you a history buff interested in the history of innovation generally or the role women in innovation?  Do you have a daughter who you want to inspire to reach for the stars both professionally and personally? Are you a girl or young woman interested in a career path in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math (STEM)?  If so, I hope that the stories of these "Lady Edisons" will inspire you as much as they have inspired me.
